Why I love this place
Triund was one of the most memorable treks I've ever done. The journey starts through dense pine and rhododendron forests, with every turn offering breathtaking views of the Dhauladhar mountain range. As I climbed higher, the fresh mountain air and peaceful surroundings made the effort completely worth it. The last stretch of the trek is a bit steep, but once you reach the top, the panoramic views are absolutely unreal. Watching the clouds move below the mountains while sitting on the ridge is a feeling that photos can never fully capture. I stayed overnight in a tent, and that turned out to be the highlight of my trip. The sunset painted the mountains in golden colors, and at night the sky was filled with countless stars. Waking up to the sunrise over the Himalayas is something I'll never forget. If you love nature, adventure, and peaceful places away from city life, Triund should definitely be on your bucket list. 📍 Follow my journey: @kocharabhi
Tips & Tricks
Starting Point: Gallu Devi Temple, Dharamkot (most popular route). Trek Distance: Around 7 km one way. Difficulty: Easy to Moderate. Time Required: 3–5 hours depending on your pace. Best Season: March–June and September–November. Permit: Forest entry/night camping permit (I paid around ₹275 for an overnight stay). Carry: Water (at least 2L), rain jacket, snacks, power bank, torch, warm jacket, trekking shoes. Network: Limited near the top. Food: Small cafés are available on the route and at Triund Top. Camping: You can rent tents at the top or book in advance during peak season. Leave No Trace: Carry your waste back and help keep the mountains clean. Safety Tip: Avoid trekking during heavy rainfall. Weather in the mountains can change within minutes, making trails slippery and nearby streams dangerous. Always check the forecast before starting your trek.
